Agronomix Today – December 2019
Welcome to the December 2019 edition of Agronomix Today – our newsletter and press release with all the latest information on our company and plant breeding software system. We have a new brief overview video hosted, this time, by our newest plant breeder: Kidist Kibret PhD., Breeding Software Professional.
Kidist earned her Masters degree at the University of Nottingham, U.K. in Biosciences, crop science division and her PhD at Justus Liebig University, Giessen, Germany in Plant Breeding. Kidist has been a great addition to the Agronomix Support Team. She demos Genovix to prospects and helps users understand the software, and therefore their data, better.

New Article on our BLOG
Dr. Kidist Kibret has written an article entitled “Getting Started with Genovix” and posted it to our BLOG. In this new article, Dr Kibret considers some of the key features a plant breeder needs to do their job. As well as some of the challenges faced by plant breeders today. She pairs the challenges and features with our amazing plant breeding software: Genovix.
Genovix Tutorials on The Learning Center
The Agronomix Learning Center (on our website) currently has 65 Genovix Tutorials. The 109 AGROBASE Generation II® tutorials are still there but we are adding Genovix tutorials at the rate of 2 per week. The next development will be playlists or as we will call them Training Modules. Training Modules will be like short courses grouping tutorials together, not by function as they are now, but by a beginning-to-end process. The Training Modules we have so far are as follows:
- Getting Started with Experiments
- Manage Experiments, Enter Data
- Manipulate and Analyze Data
- Analysis of a Multi-Location Trial
These Training Modules, and more, will be available early in 2020.
ASTA CSS & Seed Expo 2019
Since the formation of Agronomix Software we have attended the ASTA CSS and Seed Expo. This is an annual industry trade show hosted by the Hyatt Regency in Chicago, IL. You can find us at the Hyatt this year from December 9-12. Since 1990, Agronomix Software has had the same booth, now numbered 16. AGROBASE Training Course
Because we launched Genovix earlier this year we have started to wind-down public training in AGROBASE Generation II®. Private Training Courses, as well as online training, are still available upon request. The date for our final European Training Course in AGROBASE Generation II® has been set. From 2021 all public training courses will be in Genovix. The AGROBASE course will take place January 20-24, 2020 in Frankfurt, Germany.
